This may help you get started with revision

Section B - writing to argue/ persuade

- RAINFOREST features/

persuasive techniques

- Language devices/ techniques

- Varied and ambitious vocabulary (look at different adjectives and verbs that you would find useful for a persuasive piece)

- Revise varied sentence openers - adverb openers etc..

- Varied punctuation ( how to include colons, semi-colons, ellipsis, dashes, speech marks, question marks etc)

- How to paragraph

- Topic sentences

- How to plan 5-7 paragraphs

- The features of a letter, a speech, an article etc..

Section A

- Connectives to compare and contrast

- GAPS - genre, audience, purpose, style

- Different types of non - fiction texts

- Why facts and opinions are used in texts

- How genre features are used to achieve the author's purpose (to inform, describe, argue etc..)

- Language devices

- The SQI and FEAR structure

- Different options for reader reactions (the text encourages us to wonder, to imagine/ to feel fear, sympathy, appreciation etc..)

- Ambitious vocabulary and go to phrases
